Transportes Intermodais do Porto (TIP), responsible for managing the Andante ticketing system, has been focusing on simplifying the administrative and bureaucratic access control processes to the various Andante ticket tariffs. In 2018, they selected Ubiquity as their technology partner to implement a digital process for accessing student passes in higher education.
In the first phase, students at the University of Porto were able to join Sub23 student passes without needing to obtain a paper certificate. This resulted in the reduction of printing thousands of paper certificates, and the possibility of granting the benefit immediately, generating savings in human effort hours and a significant rationalization of the process. In 2023, the system evolved to allow new institutions to access the same services, expanding the scope of students who can benefit from them. In this context, on March 23 and April 13, 2023, Ubiquity Technology was present as a technology partner at the events organized by TIP at the Associação Comercial do Porto.
These events were attended by several higher education institutions (public and private) from the Porto metropolitan area, with the goal of promoting and clarifying technical questions about the estudante.tip.pt platform and increasing the number of users beyond Porto University, as well as to testify the real experience from the Porto University.
